American consumers are beginning to feel the impact of the US government's excessive tariffs, particularly in online shopping. According to recent reports from multiple US media outlets, US e-commerce platform prices have started to rise.

CBS reported on April 25 that since the second week of April, sellers on Amazon's US platform have increased prices on nearly 1,000 products, with an average price increase of close to 30%. The report cited price analysis software company executives stating that there's no other explanation for the price increases except for tariff impacts.

The report also points out that price increases by e-commerce and retailers indicate their difficulty in coping with current US government tariff policies. Reshaping supply chains or moving production to other countries could take years and cost enormous amounts.

While Amazon maintains that this data cannot fully reflect the objective situation, more US importers relying on Chinese sources are indeed struggling with business operations due to the US government's arbitrary use of tariffs. Nikkei Asia cited expert analysis on April 25 stating that unlike a few large retailers, small sellers have much weaker ability to bear risks. One US Amazon seller lamented to US media: "Tariffs can't stay this high, too many people won't survive."
